Try somatic exercises to get out of your head and regulate your emotions!
This is not a fitness practice but a mind-body practice.
Bioenergetic exercises were invented in the 1950s by a psychiatrist and therapist Alexander Lowen who was influenced by classical psychoanalysis but felt something was missing - the body.
It reacts to stress and trauma by getting tense, even painful. We feel stiff and disconnected from our feelings, even numb.
The movements are simple and designed to help you understand your feelings and regulate them. As a result you can manage stress, anxiety, or low mood better.
You get one hour of theory plus two hours of gentle exercises and group discussion.
Think of it as building your own mental resilience workshop that you can use in moments of sadness, overwhelm, or stress.
Contraindications:
History of psychotic episodes, pregnancy, breastfeeding, epilepsy. Depression or many other mental health concerns - please discuss with a doctor or therapist, generally you need to feel stable enough. For any other serious health concerns please get in touch.
